Shalyatantra Department ( Surgery )
Introduction
The term "Shalya Tantra" deals with shastra karma means surgery.
It incorporates Surgical & parasurgical procedures like Bloodletting (Rakta mokshana),
Agnikarma (Cauterization),Kshara karma (Local application of Kshar ie. plant extract Caustic)
These are traditional therapies for surgical & para surgical issue of several diseases.
Aim
• To manage diseases with the help of Traditional Surgical & Para Surgical approach.
• To explore hidden traditional surgical knowledge in various untreated cases
• To create Young budding surgical expert for disease free society.
Utility
Department trying a multidimensional level for prove the verb "Treat Cure Heal Discover". The Department builds up a Rational and counter disciple of Sushruta’s principals to serve a mankind. The Department performed various Ano-rectal surgeries for various recurrent medical conditions like Fistula-in-Ano, Piles & Fissure-in-Ano with a day care stay. It also explained and clinically live demonstration on the patient. Practical demonstration of surgical procedures on the patient accordingly. The students are trained for the minor surgical procedures which they can perform in their clinics, also for Kshara Sutra treatment for anorectal diseases.
Facilities
Department is having separate OPD, IPD for the patient as well as well equipped Operation Theater with all updated facilities. Also having OPD attached Minor Operation Theater for performing various minor surgical procedures (I&D, Suturing, Extraction of Foreign body, KS. Insertion, Kshar karma, Agnikarma, Jalokavacharan, Management of fracture, Wound Dressing, circumcision etc.)
Further scope
The utility of ancient Surgical procedures is only a solution for various chronic surgical conditions like unhealed vascular ulcer, Diebetic ulcer, recurrent fistula-in-ano, Fissure-in-ano, Senile Fracture, Burn management, Pain management etc. Most of Some other Surgical diseases are also having sole resolution. If the treatment started in early stage of BPH, Urinary Stone, Gall bladder stone etc., the surgery can be delayed or avoided.
